February 4 2010 Trying My Hand At Taking Bird Photos

I am really enjoying taking photographs. Today I decided that I want a fancy camera. Take note… A camera which will take quick photos one after another and a long range lens are now on my Wish List. Does anyone have any suggestions of a small pocket camera which meets these qualifications? Or is there such an animal?

February 3 2010 New Book Possible Covers

Today I received possible book cover samples. The book will be published very soon! I am not sure I like either of them, they seem so dark, dreary... But then the subject is about one of the hardest times of my life and some dark and dreary days and how the Lord brought me through them.

If anyone has any input, please let me know!

February 2 2010 Cataract Surgeries

If you remember a few weeks ago I was in Danli, El Paraiso and went to a small town called San Lorenzo to give away toys with my friend Jeannie Loving. Well, it seems some of the children were in the mountains picking coffee and were unable to attend the toy giveaway.

But, Jeannie to the rescue! As soon as she found out, she went to share some toys with them also.

These photos are so cute. Thanks to Jeannie for sending them to me. I love to see where the donations end up.

BLOG after BLOG I talk about the eye teams and how we are looking for cataract patients in order to perform free surgery on them. Well today three surgeries were performed on two of the patients we found in San Lorenzo and one which we found in Ojo de Agua several months ago. The lady in the middle is the daughter of one of the patients and she helped lead them all around until after the surgeries, when they could SEE!

They were blind, but now they see! God is so good! I am so thankful to be able to able to help them.

February 2 2010 Toy Giveaway In Los Corrales Close To Valle De Angeles

The children all sat around and waited until everyone arrived.

When the dog finally arrived, we started giving away toys.

My friend Lillian de Escoto sorting toys and giving them away.

Most of the children who received toys today in Los Corrales. Some of them left quickly to start playing, so this is not all of the ones who received a toy today.

A huge thank you to Dale and Gloria Leininger and their friends from Halo of Hope ministries. They made this toy giveaway possible.
