August 14 2009 Choluteca Boy Scouts Preparing Wheelchairs To Give Away

People seem to think that being a missionary is easy. Actually it is very hard work. People knock on your door and call you into the wee hours of the morning. When the containers arrive, it just means more work. Don’t get me wrong, it is a blessing, but each container requires lots of work… lots and lots of work.

SMART has had a wonderful working relationship with the Boy Scouts of Choluteca since the late 1990s and they continue to help us. Tonight they were putting together wheelchairs for tomorrow's giveaway.

God Bless each and every one of them who helped us and thank you to their leader Hilton Troches. Also thank you to Sonia and Sergio Lovo the owners of Hotel Flamingo, who loaned us their patio for storage and putting together the wheelchairs. Thanks to all of our wonderful donors who help us tremendously with all of our financial needs. I am blessed that God touches your hearts to help us.

Am I Living In The Middle East?

The below link is to many more photos of the University after the "peaceful marchers" visited the University.

For those of you who fast and pray, please pray for Honduras and for the missionaries and Christians who live here.

Honduras, Honduras!

This is one of the "peaceful" protesters. And President Obama and Hillary Clinton say they want this man's leader reinstalled as president.
This woman was one of the shoppers terrorized by the "peaceful protesters". Behind you see Popeyes exploding and in flames. This is just a couple of miles from my house.

This is the vice president of Congress who was brutally attacked by "peaceful protesters".

Holding off their "friends" and "peaceful protesters" from continuing to kick the vice president of Congress.

This is the vice president of congress and these people are kicking an unarmed man.
Yesterday the military and police finally started arresting these people.
These are the so called "peaceful marches". Notice the rocks in their hands.

Popeyes Chicken after the bombing.

This is the Burger King a block and a half from my house.

"We the poor are many. Culture cannot be bought or sold."

Unfortunately this is exactly what is happening. Money from FARC, a confirmed 3 million dollars, is coming into Honduras to pay these "artists" and other "poor" who are marching.
"Artists against the coup"

"Art = Revolution"

I suppose destroying property is art. How warped is this thinking?

"Get out of the country traitors of the nation." "People that hit" "Trash" "Judas"

I want you to notice how nicely painted this wall was.

Many Catholic leaders have come out in agreement with the "coup", since the old deposed president broke so many of the laws. This is the "resistance" response to this.

Bishop Andino is below the elite"

"SOLD Catholic"

In other words they think he sold out to the new government.

This says "live Che" talking about Che Gonzalez and "Always until victory"

This is personal property ruined.

The head of the Human Rights Commission is Ramon Custodio. Because he agrees that the former president should have been disposed and that human rights violations are not happening on a large scale like the protesters are stating, they wrote this, "Sold Ramon Custodio Judas".
Patriotic or die!!
"Patriotic or die"

This is the front of the Catholic church in the center of town. I can not make out what this says exactly, but I think it says something like "Christ serves the mafia"
Popeyes after the bombing. This is 2 miles from my house. The march started close to there, came to a block from my house and then returned and blew up a bus and this Popeyes.

This bus was burned on Tuesday about 2 miles from my house. People were on the bus when rioters threw the Molotov cocktail which made the bus explode.

Shortly thereafter they exploded the Popeyes Chicken place with another bomb. Patrons and children were inside. Thankfully all got out alive.

This is Pollo Campero less than 2 blocks from my house.

Notice the colors of the flag over this man's mouth. Honduras colors are royal blue and white.

A teacher, yes a teacher painting...

This was the Little Cesar's Pizza at the public university.

This car was parked in front of the public university.

Dunkin Donuts at the public university.

Advertising signs on the street close to my house.

I have tried to remain silent on my blog spot about what is going on in Honduras, but I now have to break my silence. People are asking for the truth and I am going to tell it like it is. Vandals from Venezuela and Nicaragua are tearing our country apart, especially "American" food chains and anything that has to do with the USA. Below are a few photos which speak for themselves. Pray for the peace of Honduras and pray for our police and military!

I did not take the photos above. They were taken by ......Christian Jose Romero

Honduras, Honduras!

This is a photo of Honduras' former president with his best friend Chavez of Venezuela. The two of them speak terribly about the USA but now both are asking for USA intervention to restore Zelaya to office. I cannot give credit for the photo because I do not know the photographer.

This is a photo of Honduras' former president with non other than Fidel Castro or a Castro double. Many here in Honduras believe that Castro is dead and that they use a double for photo shoots. I cannot give credit for the photo because I do not know the photographer.

Signs near my house. "Death to Micheletti." and a word I think is a bad word which I do not know what is. Micheletti is the new President of Honduras.

The bus explosion on Tuesday. This bus exploded when the "peaceful marchers" were walking by.

Outside the Catholic Church in downtown Tegucigalpa. The worst words have been blacked out.

Hummmmm I was going home on the bus and .....

This is the park and the Burger King a block from my house. Notice the "peaceful resistance" kicking out the window? My poodle stayed under the bed most of the day when this happened.

The street a block from my house.

The Burger King a block from my house. Please notice the "peaceful unarmed marchers" as reported by CNN.

When I wrote the photographer to ask permission to use his photos his response was, "Sure! Please help our country! We need to spread the truth behind Zelaya's goals, actually Chavez plans to get the ownership of our country!" Thank you, Christian Jose Romero

Guanacaste Nacaome Eye Brigade

The Eye Brigade today was a huge success! Patients ranged from 9 months old to 82 years old and we saw a total of 71 patients. It was a hard day's work in the extreme heat, but we all left feeling we had accomplished a lot.

The transportation, surgery and housing will all be free for the patients. Most patients are extremely poor and live on as little as $2.00 per day. In a country where Public Health Care is the mode these people would never receive surgery because they cannot pull the strings necessary to get a slot in an over-extended and under-funded system.

Thanks to a generous donation from Michael Martin's family we were able to pay all of the expenses for this eye brigade. We identified 12 cataract patients who will receive free surgery late September.

Thanks to COVA and to Victor Montoya and Rolando for helping screen all of the patients.

Honduras! Politics, Pies and a Cake

I know it has been a while since I have posted, but I am getting caught up. At first I was afraid to post regarding what was going on in Honduras. I didn't know if the old leader would return and "get" his enemies or not. Those who have dared to post the truth from the media have been threatened with death and kidnap of their children.

Barack Obama was standing with the deposed president who is a socialist. Hillary Clinton called for him to be reinstated. Financial sanctions were implemented by the USA and other countries. For a while only Israel and Taiwan were standing with Honduras. But Hondurans are a strong people and the democrats decided to stick with the truth no matter what. So they have.

I do not know one single missionary here who was angry at Zelaya being kicked out of the government. I only know a few Christians who are with the old government. Most of these few, were on the payroll or are personal friends. Many pastors have come out LOUD and CLEAR against the former government.

I will start posting tomorrow about the things which are really happening in Honduras which CNN (nicknamed Chavez New Network) and other news sources are reporting as pacific marches.

CNN reported 100s of people killed. I PERSONALLY went to the Human Rights Department at the Attorney General's office last week. They reported only 2 deaths. They personally told me this! This is not I heard that someone said, that someone said.

As I was watching the films posted on the internet of the "unarmed marchers" I found 3 people with guns and 1 shooting. Now if I am untrained and can find this, why can't the news agencies find it?

Meanwhile the outside donations of wheelchairs and the eye clinics have suffered due to the unrest. Friday will be our first eye clinic since this all started. Saturday will be our first wheelchair mission giveaway. I have been at home for days on end, baking and waiting for this to all blow over.

Today I made cherry pies and apple/pear pies and a Pina Colada Cake (pineapple and coconut). Tonight is the Honduras vs Costa Rica soccer game and we really need to win! First because Costa Rica has pressured Honduras to restore Zelaya to power and Honduras has something to prove politically by winning and ..... We want to win to win!
