October 17, 2012 Returning A Kidnapped Baby To His Mom And Dad
This was a strange case... mom and dad were at the hospital to have their baby and while she was in labor there was a woman there who said she was a teacher from a town close to them. Se made friends with them and then offered them food and a place to stay because they left the hospital too late to catch the bus. Once in the tiny rented room, she gave them food which put them to sleep, in fact she almost killed the father. He slept for two full days. The mother saw the woman leaving with the baby and began to scream... but since she had the baby c-section she could not run after the woman, but she did call the police.
Mom and dad smiling, immediately after we told them that we had the baby safe in Tegucigalpa.
We took mom and dad to Tegucigalpa to the hospital where the baby was safe in a baby crib.
When we first arrived all the other mothers started chiding the mother saying, "How could you give up your baby?" I quickly told them that the baby had been kidnapped. The kidnapper had been telling the other mothers that the mother had given the baby to her.
Different people had given the baby clothes and a blanket at the hospital and different moms had been taking care of her too.
The mom kept saying, "My doll, I am so glad they found
you!"
I was able to hold her for a while.
She was so cute in her red blanket.
Her mom was proud of her also. She was missing about 30 hours.
But Fatima Ullola, above is the head of the investigative police for the Attorney General's Office in Honduras and as soon as she received word that the baby was missing, she mounted street stops where police looked in every car and every bus, but somehow the kidnapper got through.
But the baby started feeling bad and the woman panicked and took her to the hospital. At the hospital she acted like she was the mother with hospital employees, but she told other mothers that the child had been given to her. The mothers told the staff and the staff told the police who were already there undercover looking for the baby.
The baby is named Fatima Milagro.
Fatima is her god mother.
Little Fatima slept through it all. She didn't have a clue what a fuss she caused.
So by now you are asking yourself, "How in the world did you get involved in this?"
It is easy. The police and the Attorney General's office did NOT have a car NOR gas to go to La Paz to pick up the mom and dad. So they called me. I filled my car up with gas, loaded them all inside including the kidnapper and took off for the drive to La Paz.
When the father saw the kidnapper, I though he was going to kill her.
Above is the group who went to La Paz with me, excluding the kidnapper who stayed behind in La Paz to be booked and charged with kidnapping after mom and dad and an aunt positively identified her,
This was a story with a good ending.
Unfortunately not all the stories I have end well.
Thank God for providing people to help the ministry financially where I can do these things.
