January 16 2010 Eye Brigade El Paraiso Episcopal Church

We performed exams on 68 people today. We found 5 people who need cataract surgery and next month they will receive free surgeries.

The following three young girls who showed up with grandparents and/or parents and stayed for the day.

The Texan Doc performing a visual exam.

And more Texans. They were so helpful... I am sorry I do not know their names... but they were sent by the Lord and they were a wonderful help to us, I hope they feel the same.

The volunteer Texans arrived with eye glasses donated by the Lion's Club and they worked hard.

Rolando performs step one in the eye exam process.

The Texans unload their eyeglasses and prepare to start giving them away.

These three ladies wait in line.

Rolando and the machine perform the first step of the eye exam.

Chepe arrives with water for the water break.

All the old folks lined up and chatted while waiting their turn.

This trip took us more than 2 hours from Tegucigalpa. I am thankful to several donors who have helped keep us in food, gasoline and hotels for these kinds of eye teams. We could not do what we do without your help. Thanks to Jack Deloss Taylor Trust, Michael Martin family and Ernest and Linette Gaudet Family Trust for their precious gifts.
